Fill command enables users to fill the certain area. Users can use columns to make fills on some areas, but there are plenty situations where fill does the job and column does not. Fill is, like every digitizing option, available through context menu
When Fill command is active, mouse cursor changes it’s icon to blue filled square.
To fill the certain area, user must select three fill points. They define the area that will be filled. Clicking anywhere in the drawing, sets the first fill point. Moving cursor in desired direction and clicking the left mouse click, activates the second fill point.
Software automatically creates preview lines to give better insight how the fill will look like. After the third point is set, area will be filled.
After the third fill point is set and area filled, command is still active and user can continue to fill other areas. This time only one point needs to be set, as the software uses two points from previous fill.
When the point is set, fill are expands to selected point
However, user might not want to continue fill from the previous fill, but from the some random point in the drawing. For this purpose, new fill must be drawn. Right clicking the mouse brings the context menu. Under the Fill category there is a New Fill command.
Right after the new fill command is active, new dashed line becomes available. It represents a connection stitch to next point. User decides where to put the next fill point.
After the first fill point is set, procedure is same like in previous fill. Selecting the second and third point finishes the fill.
At this point, user can continue working from second fill or create new fill.
Once you have created a FILL area, you may want not want the entire shape fill and would like to have a small area not stitched. This can be accomplished with FILL HOLE. Like the previous, you need to select 3 or more points inside the FILL area. If you try to click outside the FILL area you will get the following error.
Once you have selected 3 or more points in the FILL area, you can go to the stitch mode and you will see that part of it was left out.
You will be able to create more than 1 hole in the FILL area if required
