Column

While Normal and Arc Normal create regular line stitches, columns create closed filled shapes. Column can be Normal or Arc Column.
To start drawing column, user activates the column option by accessing the context menu

Mouse cursor changes its icon and now looks like a wave with letter A. A stands for the first opening point of the column.

When the first point is defined, dashed line shows up and new point must be defined.

In addition, cursor icon changes letter to B. It is the second opening point.

When the second point is defined, user now defines closing points for the column. Cursor icon will again change to letter A and line become solid.

When the third pointis set, only the second closing point remains. Cursor icon changes to letter B. ThreadsES will automatically draw the rest of the lines to give you better preview of the column.

After the fourth point is set, column is created and filled.

In normal and arc stitches, new stitch line starts where the previous one finished. Columns behave the exact same way. When one column is created and user wants to draw a second one, there is no need to draw all four points again. Opening points are already defined (by last column) so only closing points remain. Cursor again changes to letter A.

When the first closing point is set, just like in the previous column drawing, ThreadsES automatically create lines to give better preview of the column.

After the second closing point is defined, new column is created and filled. User can continue drawing columns or exit the command (hotkey – Escape). Cursor icon will change back to normal icon.

Sometimes user would like to create multiple columns on different locations on the drawing, rather than have columns next to each other. To do so, New Column command must be activated. Column command is now disabled (greyed out).

New dashed line appears. This line represents stitch that will connect two columns. Line will always start from the last drawn point.

User needs to choose where the next column first point will be. After the first point is defined, procedure for the next point is same as for every column.
